Microdroplet Dermal Filler
SkinVive by Juvéderm is a new and innovative treatment in the Juvéderm dermal filler collection. This microdroplet dermal filler is injected close to the surface of the skin to reduce the appearance of lines, wrinkles, and skin imperfections. SkinVive is the smallest molecule in the Juvéderm filler collection with the ability to cover larger surfaces with imperfections close to the surface of the skin.
How is SkinVive unique?
SkinVive is unique from the other dermal fillers in the Juvéderm Collection. Traditional dermal fillers are used to replace lost volume in particular areas, fill in fine lines and wrinkles, or add definition to the face and jawline. SkinVive is administered using tiny microdroplets injected close to the surface of the skin. The microdroplets can cover larger areas and increase skin hydration and smoothness in the treatment area.
How does SkinVive work?
As we age, our skin loses collagen, elastin, and hydration causing static lines and wrinkles to appear. SkinVive utilizes hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the body that binds water molecules, to replace lost hydration and counter the skin aging effects of lost collagen and elastin. The result is plump, hydrated, and youthful glowing skin.
How long does SkinVive last?
Studies have found that most patients saw a significant improvement in skin hydration and smoothness for up to six months after receiving treatment. Every person’s skin is unique, so treatments last at different time periods for each person. Factors such as skincare, other treatments performed, and genetics will impact how long the treatment lasts.
How will I know if SkinVive is right for me?
When you come in for you consultation you will share your aesthetic goals and your provider will decide on the treatment or series of treatments that will help you achieve those goals. How will the injection feel?
Our expertly trained providers will inject SkinVive between the layers of skin (intradermally), stimulating collagen production to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, hydrate the skin and increase skin smoothness. SkinVive contains lidocaine that numbs the skin during the injections. This helps patients feel minimal discomfort during their treatment.
Is there recovery time with SkinVive injections?
SkinVive injections are quick, allowing patients to return to work and other activities. Most patients will experience mild side effects, such as swelling and slight discoloration at the injection site, which will resolve on their own within 30 days.
Who is a Candidate?
This treatment can be used safely on anyone over the age of 21 on any FitzPatrick skin type or skin tone. If you have severe allergies with a history of anaphylaxis, a known sensitivity or allergy to gram-positive bacterial proteins, any known allergies to lidocaine or a history of multiple severe allergies you may not be a candidate for SkinVive.
