Voluma XC

Facial Volume & Contour

Many individuals begin to notice that their cheeks become flatter and the skin that was once filled out by youthful fat pads droops and sags. If you are looking to rejuvenate your facial appearance, Juvéderm Voluma XC is an excellent specific dermal filler that restores lost facial volume.

Dr. Greg Chernoff has been a pioneer in the use of dermal filler cosmetic applications and was one of the first Cosmetic Surgeons in Indiana to offer Juvéderm Voluma. His expertise in the use of injections has consequently led to the training and certifying of many cosmetic doctors and nurses.

Juvéderm Ultra XC helps to improve the appearance of age-related facial volume loss, moderate-to-severe wrinkles, and folds (nasolabial folds), as well as, volumize cheeks and lips.

What Is Juvéderm Voluma XC

Juvéderm Voluma XC is comprised of hyaluronic acid, a smooth gel injectable designed to add long-lasting volume to the cheeks, jaw, or other areas of the face. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a naturally occurring complex sugar that can be found in the human body.

Since hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in the body, allergy testing is not required. This product is safe and is FDA-approved as a non-surgical treatment for volume loss in the apple, apex, and hollows of the cheeks.

How Is Juvéderm Voluma XC Injected

The procedure is quick and performed safely in the office, by Dr. Chernoff or his specially trained nurse injectors. Dr. Chernoff is a certified injection specialist with over 20 years of experience training other physicians and nurses in advanced injection techniques. The average treatment takes approximately 15-20 minutes to perform. The length of time required to complete the injections may vary depending on the number of areas being treated.

No anesthesia is required during this minimally invasive procedure, although a topical numbing cream will be applied to the injection site. Additionally, for added comfort, the Juvéderm Voluma XC formula contains lidocaine to aid in numbing the treated area. Dr. Chernoff or his nurse injectors will carefully plan where the Voluma injections should be made to yield the best results. After injections are made, ice is applied to the area and pressure is placed on the injection site to reduce the risk of bruising.

Following the procedure, patients may experience some slight swelling in the treated area. This is quite normal and temporary. The swelling should subside within one to two hours. Other side effects include mild-to-moderate bruising, especially in patients who bruise easily. Some patients choose to continue to ice the area for a while after the procedure, though it is permissible to return to work immediately for those who wish to do so.

Who Is A Good Candidate For Voluma XC?

Adults over 21 with no lidocaine allergy looking to improve volume loss and tighten skin in the mid-face region may be a candidate for Juvéderm Voluma.

What Non-Surgical Facial Rejuvenation Results Can I Expect?

With optimal treatment, Juvéderm Voluma has been shown to last for up to two years, delivering a long-lasting improvement of facial volume. When injected, this dermal filler gently lifts the skin and restores volume to the targeted area.

In addition to tightening loose, sagging skin on the face, Voluma also minimizes the appearance of wrinkles in the mid-face. The procedure is non-invasive and does not require any downtime, allowing patients to return to their normal daily activity with a noticeably improved, refreshed facial appearance.
