Reveal Fresh, Healthy Skin
Perhaps you have heard of the term “chemical peel.” This type of skin renewal treatment offered at Chernoff Cosmetic Surgery uses the highest medical-grade ingredients including Salicylic, Mandelic, Lactic, and Glycolic Acids to peel away the top layers of the skin. The results are healthier, smoother, and younger-looking skin. A professionally administered peel can restore tired, aging, and dull skin to a more youthful and vibrant appearance. A medically supervised peel helps improve the appearance of fine lines, hyperpigmentation (brown spots), enlarged pores, light-to-moderate sun damage, freckling, acne, and scarring. Most peels are excellent for the face, neck, décolleté, arms, back, and hands.
At Chernoff Cosmetic Surgery in Indianapolis, IN, our licensed aestheticians offer complimentary consultations to help our patients determine the type and level of chemical peel that will help them achieve their facial renewal goals. We customize each treatment based on your skin and your desired results.
Three levels of professional and targeted peels to accommodate most skin types are available to address a variety of skincare and anti-aging concerns.
The three levels of peels offered are:
- Level 1: Illuminize Peel (Sensitive Skin Peel)
- Level 2: Vitalize Peel (Pigment Balancing Peel)
- Level 3: Rejuvenation Peel (Corrective Peel)
The peels administered at Chernoff Cosmetic Surgery in Indianapolis, IN are each formulated with different ingredients that will determine how deeply the formula is absorbed into the skin. For each patient, a customized peel is recommended. Our licensed aestheticians can determine which peel will best match your skin type and aesthetic goals.
Prior to any treatment or procedure, Dr. Chernoff or one of our trained and certified Health Care Providers determine if you are a candidate, review the risks and benefits, and provide all possible treatment alternatives.
What Does a Peel Feel Like?
During a peel, a customized solution is carefully applied to your skin and allowed to penetrate deep down into the dermal layer. Over the next 1-14 days, depending on how deeply the chemical penetrates the skin, the outer skin may begin to peel or flake off. This procedure accelerates the natural cell turnover process in a controlled manner so that new, healthy skin can surface from below.
The types of peels differ and are based on how deeply the solution penetrates. Factors that may affect the depth of a peel include the active ingredients, the number of layers that are applied, and the amount of time allowed before the solution is neutralized.
Sun exposure must be avoided during the healing process or longer. Our licensed aestheticians and skincare specialists will advise you on proper skin care following your chemical peel, including moisturizers, sunscreens, and makeup.
