Minimally-Invasive Neck Contouring & Jaw-Defining

Ellevate is a minimally invasive procedure that sculpts and refines your jaw line and neck. This innovative procedure uses a suture suspension system to refine, restore, and smooth contours while supporting the underlying neck tissue. Dr. Greg Chernoff is the most experienced surgeon in Indiana who offers Ellevate!

Specific requirements, training, and experience are needed for a physician to offer Ellevate. Doctors who have specific experience in surgery of the head and neck, preferably a plastic surgeon, or surgeons who know how to do liposuction of the neck would qualify for training to perform Ellevate. Dr. Chernoff is a triple board-certified Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon in practice for over 30-years in Indiana. Dr. Chernoff completed training and is certified to offer the Ellevate procedure.

Ellevate performed alone is a minimally invasive procedure that does not include removal of the skin. The recovery is faster than a traditional neck lift and the results are outstanding.

Who Is a Candidate for Ellevate?

The best candidate for Ellevate is a person with good skin elasticity and has fullness or lacking definition under the chin. People with poor skin elasticity or significant hanging skin are not a candidate for Ellevate.

What Are The Results of The Ellevate Procedure?

Ellevate is a long-lasting non-surgical facial renewal procedure. The exact amount of the time the results will last from an Ellevate procedure is different for each person and can vary based on genetics, weight gain or loss, skin quality, health, and other treatments being performed to improve skin quality.

How Is Ellevate Different Than Other Facial Surgical Procedures?

Ellevate is different than traditional surgical facial enhancement procedures. When Dr. Chernoff performs a deep plane facelift, the goal is to improve the mid-face by repositioning muscles and tissues along the cheeks and jowls. Ellevate improves neck contouring and defines the jaw line and can be performed alone, or in conjunction with a Mini Facelift, Deep Plane Facelift or Neck Lift.

When Dr. Chernoff performs a neck lift, he makes a small incision behind the ear and tightens the underlying muscles and tissues. He then removes excess fat and skin. Additionally, most patients require the repair of the platysma neck bands. To complete this procedure, Dr. Chernoff makes a small incision under the chin to surgically repair separated muscles by protruding platysma bands. Ellevate does not use incisions and instead uses a supportive sling to hold the muscles and glands under the chin and along the jawline in place.

The Ellevate technique is also different than Thread Lift procedures. The Ellevate suture material is used to create the support sling underneath the jawline. The suture material is a permanent braided polyester suture. The suture material is placed over the muscle and beneath the skin using the ICLED lighted Suture Rod.

The Suture Rod is what allows Dr. Chernoff to travel in the exact location, so it is not too close to the surface or too deep, to actually permanently support the glands and muscles of the neck. The ICLED light guidance makes Ellevate much more accurate and with the permanent suture material, it is also much longer-lasting. The structure of the Ellevate suture is much different to PDO threads or absorbable threads which are single strand sutures that are placed to elevate the skin as the Ellevate suture is a continuous loop that goes underneath the entire area of the jawline to support it over the long term. The Ellevate suture is also non-absorbable, allowing long-lasting results.

Can The Ellevate Be Combined With Other Surgical or Non-Surgical Procedures?

Ellevate can be combined with both surgical and non-surgical procedures. Most frequently, Ellevate is performed with surgical procedures such as liposuction, Trampoline Platysmaplasty, or a Mini-Facelift. Additionally, patients may benefit from skin improving treatments such as Fractionated CO2 Laser, MicroNeedle RF, and Radiofrequency, performed before or after an Ellevate procedure.

What Is The Recovery like After Ellevate?

Patients go home wearing a chin strap and experience very little bruising or swelling in the days to follow. Ellevate can be performed on a Thursday or Friday and patients may be able to return to work on Monday with little-to-no signs of a procedure ever being done. Patients will wear a chin strap for 3 days following the procedure. For some patients, we recommend a neck support for additional days after the procedure.

Most patients report that within a few weeks, they feel great. Any swelling or bruising should dissipate within the first week. Patients will feel tightness when they look down towards their toes because that is when Ellevate does its maximal supporting and shaping underneath the jawline. The tight sensation eventually disappears by 2 to 3 weeks after the procedure.
